Review of the Leica Q2
Since I bought the Leica Q2 in the summer of 2020, I’d like to give a quick review of its further photographic charms.
What’s Leica Q2?
Official Site: Leica Q2 // Leica Q // Photography - Leica Camera AG
The Leica Q2 is a compact digital camera with a 47.3-megapixel 35mm full-frame sensor. It is the successor to the Leica Q and is dustproof and splashproof. Introducing the new Leica Q2 – a perfect symbiosis of the essentials with innovation, pristine performance with connectivity, and resilience balanced with elegance. With its newly developed, 47.3 megapixel full frame sensor, extremely fast Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH. prime lens, fast autofocus, innovative OLED technology, and timelessly elegant design, the Leica Q2 elevates the tradition established by its predecessor, the Leica Q.

About my impressions
Appearance and state of mind:
- The box was too gorgeous, like a little closet.
- The form is really cool. It’s massive and simple and cool.
- I bought it as a reward, so just putting it in the box makes me excited.
Functionality:
- The Leica Q2 is splash-proof and dust-proof, so I feel safe outside.
- I think the battery life is good, I can take more than 1000 pictures with it. I heard that it has a big battery for Leica SL.
- The official Leica app integration is convenient; the Bluetooth integration is smooth and I can immediately retrieve photos taken with the Q2 from the app to my phone. You can immediately share your photos on the go.
Impressions after using the Camera:
- The Leica SUMMILUX lens, which can be set from f/1.7, is bright and I was impressed with how nicely the background blurred out when shooting. I feel like everything becomes more nostalgic.
- When I take pictures with the Q2, everything looks more atmospheric, and I feel like I’m getting better at it.
- I didn’t read the instruction manual very much, so I didn’t notice the macro mode until later. It’s good to be able to easily take pictures of flowers and such.
